About
Elaine Wong is a self-taught intuitive artist and painter from Malaysia.
Elaine’s paintings can be described as intuitive and expressive, combined with symbolism, doodles, mysticism, semi abstract, psychedelia, illustrations and whimsicality. She is building an eclectic style derived from her own art explorations, integrating subjects like animals, femininity, botanicals and dreamscapes.
Through her paintings, Elaine strives to confront her personal shadows, bringing light to the dark. She believes that one way to achieve well-being, healing and personal freedom is to be aware of our own shadow archetypes.
Elaine’s work is very much about her self-expression and self-discovery. Her art practice serves as an extension of her quest to get to know herself deeper and through it cultivates a more intimate connection within & with the universe as a whole. She loves to creatively use her own experiences to make a point, illustrate concepts, and hopefully, stimulate insightful response from others. Using colours and poetic words to convey her feelings and reflections of personal growth as a human, her process involves listening to messages, insights, lessons, nudges, and daily blessings as they appear in her awareness, meditations, dreams, journeys and in nature.
Elaine's work is grounded in self-determinism, the belief that art can deliver healing messages to the beholder, and that the act of creating serves as a medium for inquiry into infinite possibilities.
The scenes she often includes in her paintings can be seen as an intentional set-up, and she hopes that, upon encountering her work, she can transport the viewer into the magical world she created where healing, manifestations and transformations transpire.
Elaine currently lives and works in Subang Jaya, where she runs a conscious creative coworking & coliving space called The Hatchery Place, at which her art studio is also located.

SOCIETY TAKES BIRTH FROM PEOPLE. SO BY AFFECTING INDIVIDUALS, YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES IN THE SOCIETY AND, THROUGH IT, IN THE WORLD. YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT, BUT YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES. THE FIGHT IN INDIVIDUAL MINDS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WARS.
SO IF YOU CAN TOUCH PEOPLE, YOU CAN TOUCH THE WORLD.”
